This is a meditative, non- judgmental movement process open to all skill levels. Students should dress in comfortable clothes. (Sweat pants or yoga pants, t-shirt, sweater)
Lisa Porter is a Multidisciplinary artist who works in film and on stage. She has taken instruction with Butoh artists Denise Fujiwara and Jocelyne Montpetit and will share some of what she has learned in this workshop.
NL Moves is a monthly workshop series by DanceNL designed to offer professional development opportunities to the dance community while exposing the general public to many different dance genres and promoting wellness and physical activity. NL Moves workshops are led by DanceNL members and highlight some of the amazing work and skills of the dancers and movers of the province. NL Moves workshops are happening every month throughout Newfoundland until May, 2013.
DanceNL is happy to be partnering with new The Canadian Active After School Partnership (CAASP). CAASP has been designed to increase healthy living opportunities during the after-school time period. CAASP wants to better understand how children between 5 and 17 years of age spend their time after school in the 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm time period. It would be very helpful if parents and caregivers complete this 10 minute survey to help us learn more about this topic. CAASP wants to know how children spend their time after school; what parents think about after school programs that their children are now in; and what children who are not in after school programming do during this time period.
By taking the survey you qualify for a chance to win a $150 Sports Chek Gift Certificate!
DanceNL members have been on the radio lately! Two DanceNL related interviews are now online on the CBC website and are available as podcasts.
