Well, Dance Week may be coming to an end, but we’ve still got a few things left for you!

Take your morning stroll through Bannerman Park this morning – something may just happen at Random!

Today, the Dance Ambassador theme is “red-headed actor/musicians of inordinate talent”: Daniel Payne and the Pathological Lovers are each doing a dance to help us close out the week.

Dancers in St. John’s will be taking advantage of Scott Campbell’s expertise at our awesome workshop, starting at noon today.

Keep an eye out on NTV’s 6 o’clock news for some flashmobbin’ yogis – and congratulations to Yoga Kula on their amazing first project with DanceNL!

Watch our Facebook and Twitter feed for updates, pictures, and recaps of the amazing things that have happened all week long!

And THANK YOU for an awesome Dance Week! Let’s keep dancing all year long!

It’s Saturday, but that doesn’t mean Dance Week has come to a close! We’re still dancing all weekend!

Today’s Dance Ambassadors are from Steffen Dance… and they danced all over St. John’s for us!

Yesterday, On the Go and played the Most Danceable Song of 2014: “Shots” by Allie Duff and the Happy Campers! We had a great Virtual Dance Party to go along with it – and you can dance along with us whenever you like by checking out the results of the livestream on YouTube!

Today in St. John’s, the May We Have This Dance? fair will be going on from 10am to 4pm, with awesome workshops happening all day! Keep an eye out for Random Acts of Dance… word on the street is that they’ll be popping up downtown, and at a local shopping centre. And don’t forget to check out Neighbourhood Dance Works’ First Look at the Arts & Culture Centre tonight at 7:30pm!

In Central, Vanessa Elizabeth will be teaching the last FREE NL Moves workshop of the season – Slow, Liquefied Movement for Bellydance!

Today is also the deadline for Jill Dreaddy DanceCo’s Why I LOVE to Dance challenge, so get those videos in!

And, of course, we’re gearing up for Scott Campbell’s awesome workshop in Dance Photography tomorrow afternoon. If you’re planning to come, to forget to register!

Happy Friday!

Today’s Dance Ambassador is Grenfell VP Mary Bluechardt, whose video is the sunshine in on a grey day.

Yesterday, Ted played the runner up for Most Danceable Song of 2014: “Ridin on the Streetcar” by The Connexions! And that means that TODAY is…

Here’s the deal: at 4pm, if you’re in the downtown St. John’s area, head to Rocket Bakery. If you’re in Mt. Pearl, get yourself to Admiralty House. In Central? Head to the Lesley Oake School of Dance. OR – log on to our Youtube Channel and tune in to On the Go to dance along! There are still spaces in our Hangout, too, so send us an email if you want to join us there! We’re going to dance ourselves silly to the Most Danceable Song of 2014!

If you’re out at the Avalon Mall for a movie tonight, keep an eye out for something Random…

Tomorrow, the Dance Week fun continues with our May We Have This Dance? fair and NDW’s First Look in St. John’s, and our last NL Moves workshop of the season: Slow, Liquefied Movement for Bellydance with Vanessa Elizabeth in Grand Falls!

We had a great time at Folk Dance Night last night – thanks to the Folk Arts Society for all that they do!

Today’s Dance Ambassadors are ethnomusicologist Maile Graham-Laidlaw and folklorist Cynthia Egan, who sat down with us to talk about dance’s place in our social culture.

Yesterday, Ted played the 3rd Most Danceable Song in the province on On the Go: “Sally Ann” by the Long Distance Runners! Make sure you listen in at 4pm tomorrow to hear #2!

It’s Throwback Thursday here at DanceNL, so keep an eye on our Facebook page for a near-hourly blast from the past!

And don’t forget to pop down to your local Dance Hotspot or log in to our Youtube channel tomorrow at 4pm to be part of the first ever province-wide Virtual Dance Party!
