Leslie Pierce

Leslie’s love of dance began at the age of 11. She took jazz (and later tap) until graduating from high school. After too many sedentary years, she picked up her first hoop in 2012 and never looked back. She credits her instructor and mentor Cindy Butt at FarOut Fitness for giving her the confidence and skills she needed to share her love of hoop dance with others. She has also had the good fortune of attending a workshop with internationally renowned hooper Lisa Lottie and taking classes with Wonderbolt Circus’s Allison Collins (aka Alley ‘Oop) to help bring her skills to the next level.

Leslie has been teaching mixed level hoop classes at FOF since February 2015. Her classes combine dance, fitness, coordination, and play. Leslie believes that hooping is a fun way to stay physically and mentally healthy, no matter your age or level of physical ability. When she isn’t hooping, Les also takes ballet classes for balance and flexibility.

This spring, Leslie is delighted to be performing with her hoop troupe at Dance on the Edge 8 at the LSPU Hall and teaching her next session of hoop classes at FarOut Fitness starting Thursday, April 7. Interested hoopers can contact her at or by messaging the FarOut Fitness Facebook page at
