BUTOH INSPIRED MOVEMENT
with Lisa Porter

Using vocabulary drawn from the modern Japanese dance form Butoh, students will explore what it means to be present in the body. This is a meditative, non- judgmental movement process open to all skill levels. Students should dress in comfortable clothes. (Sweat pants or yoga pants, t-shirt, sweater)

Lisa Porter is a Multidisciplinary artist who works in film and on stage. She has taken instruction with Butoh artists Denise Fujiwara and Jocelyne Montpetit and will share some of what she has learned in this workshop.

NL Moves is a monthly workshop series by DanceNL  designed to provide professional development opportunities to the dance community while exposing the general public to many different dance genres and promoting wellness and physical activity. NL Moves workshops are led by DanceNL members and highlight some of the amazing work and skills of the dancers and movers of the province. NL Moves workshops are happening every month throughout Newfoundland until May, 2013.
