Memorial University of Newfoundland invites applications for a Dance Residency for six weeks in the Fall 2014 Semester, subject to funding approval. The position is intended to honour new and established dancers of any genre whose creative work demonstrates a high level of artistic achievement. During the residency, the candidate will work on his or her artistic/scholarly projects while making time available to members of the dance community both within and outside Memorial. The resident will be given the opportunity to interact with dance community in a variety of ways: workshops, performances, consultations, presentations, etc.

This unique residency will encompass two weeks on the Grenfell campus in Corner Brook (in partnership with the Division of Fine Arts), two weeks at Gros Morne National Park (in partnership with Creative Gros Morne), and two weeks on the St. John’s campus (in partnership with the MMaP Research Centre and the School of Music). The residency is also made possible with the support of DanceNL.

We seek movers with a high level of creativity and the ability to articulate their artistic vision both within and outside the academic community. Dancers wishing to be considered for the position are asked to provide a letter of application and a curriculum vitae no later than February 15, 2014.
