International Dance Day Event Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the difference between the Random Acts of Dance, Flash Mob, and Dare to Dance events?

Dare to Dance: Newfoundlanders and Labradorians are encouraged to celebrate the joy of movement in their own way: dance in the kitchen; at work; on your way to school; the possibilities are endless!

Random Acts of Dance (RAD): are short pieces created by small groups/individuals that will be presented at various locations during International Dance Day (IDD) Week. DanceNL will help coordinate these RADs, send us an email to book rehearsal space or to assist you in creating your own RAD.

Flash Mob: a group piece that will be performed in a seemingly spontaneous manner in a secret location during IDD Week. This flash mob is in partnership with Canada’s National Ballet School (NBS) and the piece is choreographed by Courtnae Bowman, an NBS teacher. Check out NBS Flash Mob last year at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VAIzXPqwcag.

I’m not a dancer. Can I still participate?
