NL Moves with Sharon King-Campbell in Stephenville

We are excited for a workshop with Sharon King-Campbell in “Movement for Character” coming to Stephenville on June 22.

Participants will learn the fundamentals of movement to inhabit convey character. A distinct practice from choreographed work, this will be a movement-based approach to character development and creation. Drawing from Laban and Commedia dell’Arte, participants will learn the physicality of some traditional “stock characters,” and the binaries and combinations of Laban movement analysis.

Sharon King-Campbell is an actor, singer, storyteller and director with a focus in the theatre. Since completing the BFA in Theatre (Acting) program at Sir Wilfred Grenfell College in 2007, Sharon has worked as a performer and director for companies across the province. She worked with the Stephenville Festival as director of If You Could Wear My Sneakers in 2011, and as a member of the performing company in 2015, appearing in Looking, Tales of Ti-Jean, and Spamalot! Sharon is the former Executive Director of DanceNL and is very happy to be able to participate in the fabulous NL Moves program.
