The Newfoundland and Labrador Arts Council has invited DanceNL to submit a nomination for the awards. It is with great pleasure that DanceNL has nominated the Galway Sisters (Mercedes, Teresita, Isabelle, Carmel and Barbara-Ann) for the Hall of Honour Award, for their exceptional contribution to the development of dance in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador.
The Galways are renowned throughout the province’s dance community as the ‘foremothers’ of what is now a thriving dance school scene. This is a great opportunity to recognize their pioneering efforts and to promote and gain recognition for dance in the province.
