Debbie Parsons

Debbie’s love of the arts began at a young age. By the age of three she had already begun to show interest in dance and music. As she got older, this interest grew into a passion, inspiring her to learn many different styles of dance and music.

As a dancer and musician, Debbie had the opportunity to participate in many notable performances and events such as local live shows, television, music, theatre, festivals, and other important local events.

Debbie has over 20 years of extensive training in fitting Pointe Shoes. She has participated in numerous industry workshops and seminars with the best fitters and brands worldwide. Debbie has fitted thousands of local dancers for Pointe shoes and is one of the most trusted fitters in Newfoundland and Labrador.

She accomplished her music studies though the Royal Conservatory of Music and Kindermusic International. Debbie has competed in numerous musical competitions and won a range of awards including a scholarship with the Gower Youth Band. She is a highly qualified and enthusiastic music instructor in both piano and flute with over 30 year’s experience.

She is also trained as an apprentice in band instrument repair. Debbie is now the President of Music Collection, Dance Corner. A Retail business catering to Music and Dance supplies. In 2000 she was responsible for the opening of the Dance Corner, a division of the Music Collection. This provides customers with a large selection of Apparel and Shoes for Dance, Cheer, Gymnastics and Figure Skating. She has been with the Music Collection as a family run business from the beginning in 1988.

In addition to running a successful business, Debbie is also a community leader working to support and promote local artists and performers. In her spare time she is proud to volunteer with Easter Seals and founded their Dansabilty Program in the fall of 2018, a class for persons with a disability to explore dance through music and free movement.
